I write to see
I write to discover what I don’t yet know
I write to discover myself,
to discover the world.
I write to find truth in the darkness
I write to connect
to feel my way.
I write to organise chaos
I write because I trust words
when nothing else makes sense,
I write to find hope
I write for love.
I write to awaken my senses,
to bring solidity to ephemeral ideas
I write for pleasure
I write for JOY.
I write for the adventure,
to travel without moving
I write to meet what is alive in me in the moment.
I write to find the stories that live in me,
stories that want to know
the shape of how they move across a page,
I write for me
and for you.
Why do you write?

The Language of Nature creative writing and nature-connection workshop is coming up on June 28th in Aberdeenshire. I’ll guide you in following your curiosity, so that you can rediscover magic through the joy of seeing, feeling, exploring, and connecting with the natural world and one another.
We’ll discover stories as we walk; stories in the soil, the water, the weather, and stories contained in the trees and winding paths. Stories that live under pebbles, that hang on branches and that are carried on a birdsong caught in the wind.
When we learn to listen and allow the environment to touch us, we can respond in kind through the offering of our presence and creativity.
Taking place at the gorgeous National Trust property, Haddo House & Country Park - there are two special offers available until June 24th.
It would be a joy to meet some of you in person, (although I realise not many of you are in this local area!).
Sunday love,
