It’s been a full month of house-moving and change for me recently, so rather than a longer letter, I thought I’d share some short, sweet poems this week to inspire you to claim some hibernation time for when you enter your menstrual cave.
I Am a Bear
I am a bear
hibernating
in the depth of winter.
Life goes on above ground
but I am heavy with sleep,
unbothered by movement.
My inner world percolates with new song
as my body sinks deeper
into earth.1
Sponge
In my menstrual cave
I am fasting
from incessant flow –
saturated.
I need to squeeze dry,
but not too bone brittle.
When the light of spring
permeates my darkness,
I will seek life’s moisture.
with love for your week,
Jane x
